Hey, Kitchy! It happened! A walk-off balk!
Bottom of the 10th in Atlanta, tied 4-4. Braves had second and third, two out, and Rox pitcher Taylor Buchzolz balks.

1. I saw John Rocker do a walk-off balk against the Marlins once.
Right after he made his a-holish comments. It was pretty funny.

But, shit, if he balks in the winning run, might as well typo it to "Butthole." :P

33. Could also be umpire assholery
I didn't see the balk, but a lot of 'em — the ticky-tack ones, like a chin wag — are subjective; some umps'll call 'em, some won't. Especially in that situation.

10. Prolly about as happy as the Snakes' clubhouse for the last three weeks
Giants beat 'em today almost exactly the same way as last night. They've lost nine of 11 and 14 of 18.

We just beat the Madres. We've won 9 of 10 and we're 3 1/2 games ahead. :woohoo:

19. Maybe you've heard of this kid:
186 K's in 182 innings. He's been the ace this year, especially since the break, and he's only 24.

Plus, in '65, the team leaders in homers were Jimmy Lefebvre and Sweet Lou Johnson, both with 12. Manny B. Manny's got 14 (and 40 RBI) in 38 games as a Dodger. :D

And we have about the youngest pitching staff on the planet. The boys are doing good...but lack experience.

25. Brad Penny made his first appearance in almost a month tonight
since his shoulder problems. Zero innings, two hits, a walk, one run. His ERA's up to 6.15. He's only 30 and he's prolly gonna need surgery in the off-season.

Maddux has a 5.96 ERA in four starts since we got him back.

26. Ouch and ouch.
Isn't it about time for Maddux to close the book on his pitching career? He was formidable during his prime, but he can't seem to find it now.

27. Maybe he wants one more win
to get 355 and pass Clemens for eighth all-time.

I should hope he'd pass him, then back up and run over him.

Twenty-seven times.
