My daughter's school made the front page of the OC Register today!
Her school got awarded the National Blue Ribbon School award.

2. And that is totally in spite of the fact that LA gets more per child
by like thousands of dollars, than our school district.

8. We knew it was coming.
We made a 22 point gain in API score for the school. Plus a number of other changes were implemented over the past year and a half.

18. True true.
Why pay exhorbitant amounts of cash to send my daughter to school when I am already paying taxes that pay for public schools (and the schools here in Irvine are most definitely better than average).

17. Oh, we also have satellite schools up here; they're still public but the funding is targeted...
better curricula, stuff like that = also cool :thumbsup:

19. I would not be against sending K to a magnet school or even a charter school
that was publicly funded, if it had a program that matched both K's interests and abilities better than the neighborhood school.
