The explosion knocked out the power for a few hours
David, the 11-year-old son of the property managers, went into the workshop behind the clubhouse, probably to mess with his prized collection of vintage Sting Ray bikes (which really are for him and not for his dad — yeaaaaah, surrrrre). Apparently he knocked over a can of paint thinner or some other flammable liquid, which spread to the water heater for the laundry room, and poof!

Two fire trucks and one PG&E truck later, the electricity's back on.

They took David to hospital with a burn on his leg. I hope he's okay; he's a really cool kid.
