Lyle Lovette, Hal Ketchum, Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton... Nashville doesn't talk about them much, because they make the rest of the family look bad. Except Dolly. They don't talk about her talent, they talk about her hair and boobs and amusement park, and overlook her tremendous songwriting skills.

I read somewhere (that I'm too inebriated to look up right now) that he considers himself a libertarian. Either way, he's a talented musician with a populist slant to a lot of his songs.
