We're back from the Shelter...No kitteh yet
We filled out the application for Marta, the Siamese mix.

She was found as a stray in May, had an upper respiratory infection, was in isolation for a bit. She's a small girl, very friendly, and liked having her head rubbed and shaking paws. What cute little crossed eyes! :D

They have to call our landlord and personal references, and she will be getting her last booster shot tomorrow.

If all goes as planned, we will be picking her up on Tuesday evening.

Still don't know how she is with other cats, but she seems pretty mellow. They say she gets anxious outside of the cage, but they think that's b/c of the constantly barking and jumping beagle nearby.

She is spayed and has her shots. A little congested right now, and is getting Lysine once a day on her food.

Once she's here, I'll take her into our Vet for a good exam.

:hi:

2. Oh, yay!!!
And I'd be a little anxious, too, if I were stuck next to a hyperactive beagle.

3. I know, right?
That little guy was a bundle of energy. I'm also going to apply to volunteer there, they are in desperate need of weekday morning dog walkers, which I used to do at another shelter back home.

It's a nice shelter, no-kill, nice volunteers. And so many beautiful cats. I wanted to take them all home. x(

She's really cute in person. I can't wait to get her out of there and into a safe, comfortable home. Her fur's not real soft, but they probably feed her some crap food. Once I get her on Wellness, she should get smooth and shiny like PB. :)

4. That would be a VERY cool volunteer gig!
It does sound like a nice shelter. :-)

And I bet she gets all soft and shiny when you get her home, too. You should have your camera ready when you bring her home, because PB is going to be all "WHAT the FUCK is THAT?!"

5. sweet, you have been told about the trick of keeping them seperated
and switching rooms so that they get used to the smell of each other before an introduction, right?

6. Yep!
She will start out in our bedroom for the first few days. Plenty of space for her, her litterbox, food and water.

I want to do this correctly, most def. :)
