What is your favorite SNL election parody?
If there is one thing that SNL still does well is roll out some good sketches during the elections every four years.

My personal favorite is http://snltranscripts.jt.org/00/00dglimpse1.phtml">A Glimpse Of Our Possible Future from before the 2000 election.

In the near future, a hapless President George W. Bush (Will Ferrell) has managed to set the Great Lakes on fire, break the Hoover Dam, have a hunting accident and start a war.

Oh, how prophetic they were. Hard to believe that this was before Bush had even set foot in the White House.

"Wow, the Great Lakes are on fire - even I know that's not good."

1. Al Gore, opening the show with his State of the Union address.
Still my fav to this day.

2. Clinton, jogging, stops at McDonalds.
I don't know if this was at election time, but it was pre-Monica.

Clinton (supposedly on a diet) is eating everything in sight.

Secret Service man: Sir, if the first lady knew about this!

Big Dawg: There's gonna be a LOT of things the first lady won't know about.

3. A Glimpse Of Our Possible Future, Part II.
The teacher-ish Al Gore lecture had me giggling. "I've secured this four-and-a-half hour of primetime, you know, as I do every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Superbowl ... I was really disappointed in some of your performances on last week's pop quiz. Idaho, I'm looking in your direction." Plus the fact that he had those awesome super computers as his background.

And, yeah, pokerfan, that first glimpse with George Bush was scarily accurate.

4. Billy, you've taken some orange sunshine...
do you have any Allman Brothers?

The Jimmy Carter call-in show is still my favorite.

Lock box is right up there along with President Gore complimenting the new Mexifornian economy.
