Anybody else order from Lands' End?
Edited on Wed Sep-17-08 06:33 PM by Brigid
I just ordered a pair of chinos and a sweater. I love their stuff! It fits me, and they will hem the pants before sending them, too. I like shopping with them much better than going to the mall. :)

1. I keep Lands End in business
And his pal, LL Bean. I love their stuff too; it's good quality and doesn't disappear after a year, you can replace it.

2. I thought it was me who kept Land's End in business.
I'm also partial to J. Jill and Orvis, though they are pricier, but have excellent sales.

3. Orvis sales are WONDERFUL
I just bought three pairs of their shoreline linen cropped pants on sale.

I get the J. Jill catalogues but haven't ever bought anything from them.

5. I love 'em!
I'm always buying stuff from them!

Most of my wardrobe is their stuff!

Right now, I'm wearing a short sleeved mock turtleneck shirt, a divided knit skirt and slippers...ALL from there!

I rarely shop anywhere else!

Smart move, my dear Brigid!

:woohoo:

6. Absolutely!
Their coats and jackets are excellent.

I also love, love, love their uh... "intimates". Best underthings I ever bought (including Victoria's Secret!).

I have some of their older polo shirts that are nicer than the current ones, though. JMO

7. When we moved to Omaha from Florida, literally the first thing we did was...
.. ordering $500 bucks worth of rain gear and winter coats from Lands End. They sell great stuff!

23. They have the best operators.
They're always so helpful and friendly. They're familiar with the merchandise, and they don't make you feel like you've interrupted them!

Talbots has great sales, too, especially if you wait until the second round of cuts.

Land's End has THE best turtlenecks. Cabelas has the best canvas trail shirts.

24. Cabela's has great coats.
Outdoor outfitters know how to keep people warm. I have three I've gotten on sale.

I didn't know they hem. I ordered a bunch of regular pants and found out I should have ordered petite but didn't return any of them.

15. I get your point about local businesses
But...I live in a college town and, sadly, am not built like the cast of Friends and, thus, cannot wear the teeny-tiny, clingy, revealing stuff that's in the market. Not well, anyway.

HOWEVER....most Sears stores carry Lands End now and, while they are not local in the sense that they are based there, they DO employ locals in their stores. So, there is that.

16. The only clothing outlet here is Wally World (exception overpriced ski stuff).
As I don't ski and would rather go naked than buy and wear W-M's crap, my options are limited. Now I could drive 150 miles round trip to some locals in VT, ME or downstate NH, but then I'd get a ration for wasting gas and fouling the environment.

more :sarcasm: sort of.

for more rugged work type stuff I have found DuluthTradingCo to be pretty good.

17. Some stores or catalogues do make clothes that fit better than others. I find
cotton ginny in Canada a great place to get separates. Their pants always fit my plus size perfectly.

http://www.cottonginny.ca/

I couldn't find any actual products, just "Fall Lineup Coming Soon."

19. They cut their pants for people who are plus sized. I've bought many pants
from them over the years and they always fit better than perfect.

22. I love Lands End
They have an outlet in the Twin Cities that I used to shop at all the time. Unfortunately there are no outlets here in SoCal. But I do order from the catalogs.
