DU men with sisters.......
How would you feel/react if your sister's husband beat the living crap out of her?

Would you feel the need to hit him? :nuke:

Would you just call the cops?

Would you visit him in jail with the pastor so that he could find redemption?

Inquiring minds want to know.......

13. it was good to see the tables turned
on a man who is a jerk and of course I am 100% on the side of my family.

Officially, I am against all violence in relationships--and do not recommend anyone being violent. If your partner hits you--get OUT--get out immediately--don't ever return and don't ever let it happen again.

9. LOL
I have two brothers, one smaller than me, and one WAY bigger.

The little one is small but scrappy, and he would protect me with all of his might.

The big one lives in Florida, and he would protect me too.

21. He would probably end up committing suicide by shooting himself in the back 5 times with a rifle
and driving off a bridge in the next state.

So I wouldn't have to worry about it.

(seriously, though - I would tell my sister to leave him. If she decides not to, then the situation is her problem. If she decides to leave, I shall grant her safe harbor (if need be) and help her with the legal crap of putting him into jail and whatnot and so forth).

Or, he'd wish he were one.

Kinda weird — my sister and I have never been very close, nor did I ever feel much affection for my parents. But for as long as I can remember, I've had this "Do NOT fuck with my family!" thing.

Fortunately, my BIL is one of the most gentle, easy-going people on Earth.

and while the 'guy' in question didn't beat me, he definitely "done me wrong." I've reason to suspect heavily that two of my brothers gave the guy a darn good thumpin.' That pastor idea, - not in a Brazillion years.

We knew he was punk enough to hit a woman. My sister has 4 brothers. We paid him a visit. No blows were exchanged. However, he has behaved himself ever since the visit. We scared the shit out of him. They are divorced now and he still minds his manners in her presence..............

34. The hell with just the men. All of us wanted to beat the crap out of him
including my mother. We didn't, although the youngest male at the time took some serious talk to control. What we did do is help our sister get free of the fucker by supporting her as long as it was necessary and used to courts to persuade him to stay away. We also made it known to his family and friends that he was a useless coward.

I'm sorry you had to deal with it. Was your sister ready to leave, or did she want to stay?

The person this is about to wanted to stay and perhaps that is why her brother did the pastor route, but wow, in my family it would not matter if I wanted to stay - they would have hauled my ass out of there after they put the hurt on him.

Had we found out before, we would have wanted to slap HER back into her senses! Again however, we're not ones to start fights.

Brothers are rarely called upon except to clean up the mess. Visiting the wretch in jail with a pastor is not the sort of clean up we do.

45. For starters, the sister has a say-so. Often in those situations the woman refuses to press charges
or leave or even allow others to intervene against the perpetrator. In that case the brother is at a huge stalemate, as is the Law.

47. I'm not a violent person, but I'd be willing to make an exception.
This subject hits close to home for me, as my sister is facing a divorce after 10 years of marriage. If it came to light that he'd ever hit my sister, he'd have not only me to worry about, but my father, 2 brothers, grandfather, and 4 or 5 cousins as well. There would be no force on heaven or Earth that could save him from eventually facing a beating.
