Part 3) Searching within webpages: If you've got a bunch of text to get through, a research project, or are just plain in a hurry, there are several ways to do this incredibly convenient shortcut.

The first is by typing 'Ctrl+f', which brings up a find box on the browser. Here, you can type in the word or phrase, have it find the word(s) by single occurrences by hitting 'next' or 'previous', or hit 'highlight all' and the page lights up with all the occurrences, and then you can hit 'next' from there. Hitting 'next' makes the page jump to the word if it is out of view. Checking the 'Match case' box before your search will find only occurrences of the capitalized or lower case version, whichever you prefer:

Another way is the quick find. To find only the links present on a page, hit the " ' " key. A box pops up saying 'Quick Find: links only'. To find words, hit the " / " key. A box saying 'Quick Find' pops up. Note this doesn't work when typing in a text field. The boxes disappear after a set number of seconds, which you can change by going into 'about:config' (a sort of registry of Firefox), but that gets too involved for here. You can get rid of the box immediately by hitting the 'Esc' key or left clicking on an open space.

Finally, you can also have the quick find box open up instantly whenever you type words by going to tools>options> the 'Advanced' icon, and click the box 'Search for text when I start typing':
