Police stumble upon backyard pot plants
LINCOLNVILLE (Sep 29): While making an unrelated call to a Swamp Edge Road home in Lincolnville on Sept. 24, Police Chief Ron Young discovered seven marijuana plants of varying heights in the backyard

The plants, ranging from 1 foot to 7 feet tall, were growing in pots by the deck of Sean Weed's home, according to Young, who subsequently summoned Weed for a misdemeanor for allegedly cultivating marijuana.

3. the most important word in this story is "misdemeanor"
Medical marijuana laws aside, Maine seems to have the most lax policy in the US for cultivating marijuana. A misdemeanor for growing weed? You sure as hell don't get a misdemeanor in Texas for growing seven marijuana plants.

I am considering moving to Maine for this reason alone.
