6. For Sagan, it's "Who Speaks for Earth"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyxd9BJ9_5E&feature=related

Esp. that section from 2:00 to 2:45 about nuclear warheads compared to the weaponry of World War II.

"Genies of death, patiently awaiting the rubbing of the lamps.... a blockbuster for every family on the planet; a World War II every second for the length of a lazy afternoon".

Gives me chills.

7. The whole Cosmos series is great.
I like the third Episode where Kepler despairs of ever finding out about the solar system. And they throw his mother in jail for being a witch, because she told him stories about going to the moon.

9. I miss Sagan so much.
No person could inspire so much awe in the natural world, the universe, and flat out reality the way he could.

My favorite part of "Cosmos" was where he spoke of there being more stars in the universe than there are grains of sand on every beach of the Earth. That's a whole lot of fucking stars!

Here it is! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJ_tZr0D2pk

His books are amazing.

28. And it's even more true now than when he said it
In 1980 (the time of Cosmos) it was believed that there were around 1011 stars in the universe. Now it's something around 1022.

27. I can't post it.
It's a video my little sister made to give to me and the other two sisters upon her marriage. She'd taken old photos of the four of us, created a VHS slideshow with music from "Somewhere In Time" in the background. That's not what makes me sad. The night she had planned for us all to view it together, just before her wedding, three of us sisters decided we were having too much fun at a party to go home with her to view her "surprise". Eventually we learned what she'd planned and we were all devastated. Hell, it's been twelve years and the feeling of having betrayed her combined with love for her, has not left me. It's taken me some years to recognize that my sisters are my very best friends. Period.
