DAMN YOU, TMJ!!!!
I can't scream that in real life, so I just wanted to strike out at the pain the only way I knew how, by screaming online. It's overcast/rainy again today. I was eating and moved my jaw just the wrong way; pop, out of joint my jaw goes again.

It happens sometimes, but never quit so severe that my tongue lights up with pain and it hurts to swallow too.

It's because of the rain. It makes it hurt worse as is, but to add injury to insult...it really really hurts. I took pain meds. I should mellow out soon. Just wanted to get a swing at the pain before I lose my gumption. That popping sound when I move my jaw irritates the flying flippity fuck out of me too.

DAMN YOU, TMJ!!!!

Other than the excruciating pain, I'm mostly ok. I've been reading at sacret-texts.com all morning. That's some damn fascinating reading. And up until I injured myself eating, I was having a nice lunch with my cats. They both acted refined and dignified today. Instead of acting cannibalistic and rabid, like they normally do, when it comes to sharing the same planet with each other and sharing the food with me, they actually acted very well behaved. You'd hardly know they were my cats.

My meds are kicking in. I'm mellowing out some now. The pain is not as severe as it was a few minutes ago. It still hurts an awful lot though.

I just want this to be a journal entry, to make a personal record of the amount of pain this wretched funny sounding disease is causing me. I would like to say hey to everybody too though.

So, how is everyone today? In better shape than I am, I hope. :hi:

1. I always used to dread autumn in the 1990s. TMJ wasn't far behind.
I was especially miserable with it from 1994 through 1997. I always used to blame the weather, and, in part, I think that was true. But what I realized was that I always experienced above-average stress during late summer/early autumn. When I took steps to control the stress, much of my TMJ went away. Of course, pain killers helped, but I really haven't had any pain like I did more than a decade ago.

I don't know if there are any other externals affecting your jaw like the weather, but maybe it's worth taking note of stressful conditions around this time of year. For what it's worth.

Oh, and I wish you quick and long-lasting relief.

2. I get that periodically.
Not as bad as your's is, I can live with it. But sometimes at night, it kills so bad I want to scream. I feel for you. Pain closest to your brain hurts the most.

3. No money for research
Actually, I'm a researcher trying to figure out what causes this pain. My NIH grant ran out and I'm switching to migraine because there ia private and pharma money. Just FYI.
