As promised, an OP that may sink like a rock, and whether one should care.
So, I responded that that I'd start another thread that would probably drop like a rock.

I am having a difficult time coming up with a topic tonight. But here is what I say! Fuck all that nasty nonsense and let the Secret Service do their jobs.

So, here are five burning questions:

1) Do you love pets? Dog person or cat person? Cute stories are mandatory.

2) What is your favorite kind of music, preferably from your youth?

3) Do you have a favorite hangout? And how often do you go there?

4)Describe your first love, and how it continues, or ended.

5) How do you feel about adoption.

2. Paddy Punk
3. Joe's Sample House, just got home about an hour ago, usually make it 3 times a month
4. My first love ended tragically, I miss him still
5. My mom was adopted so I think it is a beautiful thing

Now, excuse me while I read the HTML tutorial, so I can figure out how to answer my own damned questions in BOLD.

2. Okay. Why not...
1. Yes, I love pets and I'm a dog person. I'm don't really care for cats.
2. Hard rock, metal/goth metal
3. Gerard's Sports Bar and about once a week
4. My first love was a summer relationship while I was home from college. It ended after the summer, of course.
5. My dad was adopted, but he has since met (and bonded) with his real mother. I'm for it, I guess.

1) Two rescue cats, brother and sister tuxedos, one Boxer/Pittbull mix, also rescued, two aquariums with about a dozen fish and a lobster, one bearded dragon.

2) There really is no other music than the blues, everybody knows that.

3) Anywhere my kids are playing football, soccer, or lacrosse.

4) She was a blonde haired temptress. Stole my wagon. Been a brunette fan ever since.

5) Are you offering? I could use a rich relative! Seriously, adoption is great. I was raised by my stepdad, and our bond was as tight as if we were biologically related.

5. Hmmm.

1) Do you love pets? Dog person or cat person? Cute stories are mandatory.

I have a weakness for bunnies. I love dogs. I don't have either right now, because I keep getting adopted by cats.

I'm all out of cute stories, I think.

2) What is your favorite kind of music, preferably from your youth?

I like punk entirely too much for a grown woman who drives a station wagon.

3) Do you have a favorite hangout? And how often do you go there?

My kitchen. Based on the size of my ass, much too often.

4)Describe your first love, and how it continues, or ended.

Everybody here knows.

5) How do you feel about adoption.

I wish adorable stray cats would quit adopting me.

22. I have bunnies running around my yard too, and I'd love to take one in.
However, I don't know how to take care of a bunny. And my fear is that my current pets might "play" in a way that might hurt a bunny.

6. Okie dokie.
(Hi, Lil Missy! :loveya:  )

1) Do you love pets? Dog person or cat person? Cute stories are mandatory.
I love The Wiley and Excellent Boy Cat Named Ginger. I consider myself a "cat person," but before Ginger, I was a "dog person."
Obligatory Wiley and Excellent Boy Cat Named Ginger story: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=389&topic_id=4051838

2) What is your favorite kind of music, preferably from your youth?
I don't really have a favorite kind of music. I pretty much enjoy all music except disco and early- to mid-80s pop.

3) Do you have a favorite hangout? And how often do you go there?
Our patio, early in the morning just as the sun's coming up, with my first cup of coffee and a smoke, before anyone else is awake. :)

4)Describe your first love, and how it continues, or ended.
Robbie Byrd, first grade, in a small town in Oklahoma. I kissed him on the cheek and he grinned and blushed. Our family moved away a year later. Dunno what happened to Robbie.

5) How do you feel about adoption.
I'm adopted. I think it's generally a very good thing.

that inflatable life vests would be the "safety gear" of choice for a flight over the Alps? I mean, wouldn't skiis be more logical?

9. Yes, one should care
1) Do you love pets? Dog person or cat person? Cute stories are mandatory.
Yes I do. Never had a cat but I love em all. I work/volunteer at the Humane Society and really love doing it. I get to see critters that are in shit find wonderful places to spend their days.

2) What is your favorite kind of music, preferably from your youth?

Fave I guess is "old" country/outlaw country, cool near "emo 90's stuff, southern fried stuff from 1900 to now.. hell.. nm, I like it all.. even Belioz!~!

3) Do you have a favorite hangout? And how often do you go there?

"work" Humane Society.. very

4)Describe your first love, and how it continues, or ended.

My first love is always in my heart. She is a special woman who has part of my heart with her always. It (the love) will always be with me.

5) How do you feel about adoption. Of kittens? I push adoption all week. I think if a bebbe didnt have a chance or a child would be better off than in a bad situation, adoption is for me. Why do you ask dear?

Gawd.. I'm fairly blitzed. I'll re-read all what I typed in a sec. (or in morn)

14. Okay, here are my answers. And hopefully in BOLD.
1) Do you love pets? Dog person or cat person? Cute stories are mandatory.

I have 2 cats and 1 dog. I think I am more of a dog person, but I adore my cats so much too, and I have one that needs so much TLC that I am glad to give.

2) What is your favorite kind of music, preferably from your youth?

Oh, hell. I am so old I'd make a nuisance of myself. The first record I ever bought was a 45 called "Hey Carrie Ann"

3) Do you have a favorite hangout? And how often do you go there?

I have a favorite hangout at a "ladies bar". I only go once a week, on Sunday. When it is slow and quiet. More behind that, but I got sick of the constant drama, thus I choose my one night out carefully.

4)Describe your first love, and how it continues, or ended.

My first love was the love of my life. But, she had an explosive anger disorder, and bi-polar problem. She did great when she agreed to treatment and took her meds. Once she decided she was not going to take treatment or her meds anymore, I knew she, and we, were doomed.

I just KNEW that meant she'd beat the crap outta me again. And she did. I sent her packin that night. But it still hurts, ya know?

5) How do you feel about adoption.

Oh, for fuck sakes?? How could ANYONE be against adoption?

15. Five burning answers.
1) Do you love pets? Dog person or cat person? Cute stories are mandatory.
Yes. Cat Person, but I like dogs, too. Short cute cat story. I had a cat for 17 years that was quite the character. He basically hated everyone except for me and my father. Anyways, when he was out of food he would drag his empty food bowl to the middle of the kitchen floor. When you gave him food he didn't like he would eat a bit and throw it back up on top of the rest.

2) What is your favorite kind of music, preferably from your youth?
I don't quite grasp this question, as one of my musical pet peeves is my theory that most people basically listen to whatever they listened to in high school for the rest of their lives, and that's not me at all. My tastes have been growing and changing since I was tiny, and most of the music I liked back then doesn't even register anymore. At the moment, I'm heavily into ambient black metal, and crushing black metal. Oh, and some regular black metal for good measure, just to shake things up. But I honestly listen to a ton of different genres, from black metal to hip hop to jazz to blues to noise. I don't just love music, I NEED music, and I try to find the good in any style that gets thrown at me. I even have some classical stuff.

3) Do you have a favorite hangout? And how often do you go there?
Yes, right where I am right now. Alone in my place, and I go there often. :)

4)Describe your first love, and how it continues, or ended.
My first real love (not just puppy love) was when I was sixteen. We ended up together for 7 years, not bad for that age, before growing apart and agreeing to break up (stayed friends). I do take an obnoxious pride though that the second reason she gave me was that I was just too into hockey. "You play hockey, you watch hockey, you talk hockey!" was how she put it...and she was entirely correct. But hey, she was never going to make the playoffs.

5) How do you feel about adoption.
I think it's awesome, and if I was the fathering type (my last three answers should end that debate once and for all) I'd look into adoption first.

2) What is your favorite kind of music, preferably from your youth?

I'm partial to metal and blues, and a mix of both.

3) Do you have a favorite hangout? And how often do you go there?

Yes, and too often.

4)Describe your first love, and how it continues, or ended.

Young love, it did not continue, distance and all that

Not nearly as many curse words or cheerleading as the typical DU post on the Greatest Page. :)

This place is a trip. The Troopergate report came out less than 48 hours ago and it's already being ignored for more meaningful fare like Palin getting booed at a hockey match or 9 thorough discussions of her SAT scores.

If I was back in the States, I probably wouldn't even bother. But here in Australia there are surprisingly few people consumed with American politics. :) Have a good night on your "one night out"! I remember those....
