Can someone tell me if there is a way to make a word in italics in a DU post?

Can someone tell me if there is a way to make a word in italics in a DU post?
I keep using all caps even though I know that generally this is supposed to be used infrequently to maintain proper netiquette so what can I do that carries the same messages and nuances of an italic?

(That's done by this -- {i}See?{/i} with square brackets instead of curly brackets.)

6. Replace the brackets with the square brackets: 
like this: [i]this would be in italics[/i]

Use the square brackets--you're shifting to use the braces, when you want the [] brackets.
