i stopped to rescue a turtle in the middle of a busy road today
and i almost got hit by a car in the process, but the turtle lived for at least a day longer as a result of my "bleeding heartedness".

i've done my good deed for the day.

Edited on Tue Oct-14-08 11:01 PM by Ava
so i stuck him in the floorboard of the passenger seat and took him there. there are less cars there, so hopefully he'll be fine there.

and i must ask myself why i automatically refer to the turtle was a he, lol

13. You sound quite adept at playing in traffic.
Did your mom tell you to go play in traffic a lot when you were a kid too. Mine sure did. :P :hi:

7. Good for you! I've done it once, too...
...on a highway, saw him starting to walk across, and I'd already passed him. I ducked out the next exit and circled back around, and was lucky to still be able to catch him before a car ran him over. Took a few pictures and then turned him loose in a wooded area. He was most assuredly a "him," given his bright red eyes (box turtle).

10. Good for you.
Last turtle I saw got out of the roadway itself, but that was on a residential street.

11. So somewhere a turtle family is notifying the turtle cops that their pa is missing.
Look for his picture on turtle milk cartoons.
