help

I seem to have lost my star and my name and I have a problem I wanted the computer group to help me with and now I can't get on that forum.

2. how nice of you

I have had a problem with pop up advertizing viruses on my computer and IE has a new tools line and I can get rid of that either. I suspect I have acquired some maleware like spybot@mxt. Anyone know how I can clean that off my machine?

For clarification purposes:
a) We're talking about the Computer Help and Support Group, right? and
b) you mean "I can't get rid of that either," right?

Sorry to split hairs, but want to go for maximum clarity. I'm assuming the answer is yes in both cases.

As I recall, this computer didn't ship with IE, or maybe it was just a trial version. Anyway, I got Firefox not through the usual "Screw Microsoft" motivation but just because it's free and have been pleased. That might be a solution for you. Regardless, good luck!
