Was 80's kids' stuff horrible or what?
I may still have this on beta...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0iefF9SS5yM

this too, plus I had a rainbow brite Halloween costume that probably took three years off of the life of the lady who sewed it for me

this still seems pretty awesome though. Had the toy for this one too, but the hands were really easy to lose, they'd shoot off the springs.

What brought that on? I was trying to remember what movie that first song was in, and if it was as insane as I remember.

1. No way, 80's toys rocked.
GI Joe, Transformers, Voltron, He-Man, Rambo, plus the emergence of Nintendo, need I go on?

Sure there was some crappy stuff (I'm looking at you Jem!). But for the most part, the 80's were a thrill ride for kids.

5. I disagree. 80s movies were much more entertaining than
what they're serving these days. And the music was far superior--even the cheesy stuff that sucked.

And, FWIW, I thought "Howard the Duck" was Tim Robbins' finest work.

6. Howard The Duck was brutal but I can easily counter it.
Back To The Future, Indiana Jones, The Empire Strikes Back, E.T., etc.

14. I think we've got a disconnect here.
You guys are all talking about stuff that was meant to appeal to little boys. Maybe that wasn't so bad (I wouldn't know, I don't have any brothers or anything) but holy crap, was the stuff for girls- Rainbow Brite, My Little Pony, Strawberry Shortcake, Jem, etc- ever awful.

15. Hey there were girls in GI Joe and such.
What about The Care Bears and The Smurfs. Those weren't really for little boys yet they were good television.

4. There may be pictures someplace.
I'll let you see if you promise, on pain of serious injury to parts you're rather fond of, never to post them.
