8. To live without a dog really isn't living.
I've never known a bad dog, they are all worthy of companionship. You have a good looking friend there in Jet.

11. I didn't have one until the ripe old age of 42.
All of a sudden I had six of them! (three rescues from a neighbors house that burned down + the pups that arrived shortly after)

I never knew what I was missing! I share your enthusiasm for canines! They make life better.

17. You have the cute blond crew, I remember their pictures!
I sneaked a peak at your profile, because the story of how you got your dogs seemed familiar.
I've loved dogs since I was three when my dad brought home a standard poodle pup and plopped him down on my bed when I was taking a nap. My older brothers weren't taking naps and had already met him, but it seemed like my dad was presenting him to me! Ever since then I was the one who was almost never without a dog.

25. They were all from the same family.....
The Momma died last year of kidney failure, even though I only knew her for a short time it was a real heartbreaking experience. A few months after she passed a new pup was found sitting in my dog house one day when I came home from work. She was dumped "out in the country" & found her way here.

There was no question she was staying. This picture was taken about two hours after her arrival, the other dogs took to her right away. She knows how to make friends! Her name is Lucy.

26. Lucy is so cute, was she 4-5 months old in that picture?
Is she full grown now?
Lucy or Sarah/Sally were names we picked if our one and only child had been a girl.
We had a boy, so we named our rescued dog Sally after my mom's cousin who was an advocate for dogs and other animals.

27. The vet estimated her age at 2-3 months old.
They wouldn't spay her for a month after her first visit. She is still a pup although a big one, all the other dogs still take turns playing with her. I don't know why she decided to wait in my dog house for me but I sure am glad she did.

16. My neice has one like that...
she brought hers over a few weeks ago and she was sooooooo adorable. I fell in love with her (but my cats probably would have had her for a mid-afternoon snack) and I was terrified when we were out on the porch...her little paws went through the slats. Knotholes. Anything.

She was 8 weeks old. Teeeeeeeeeeeeny little thing. Fit in the palm of my hand. Her collar was damn near as big as she was.
