Best movie monster?
I have a special place in my heart for Gamera. The real monsters were always little Japanese boys in even littler pants, however.

3. Now you've got me thinking--"the Thing" in all its various forms was incredible
In John Carpenter's version especially, but let's give Marshall Dillon some credit for his portrayal as well. :D

15. Cloverfield Monster
The fucker takes a direct bombing from a Stealth Bomber and reacts by biting a hovering helicopter. And don't bother hiding, it'll drop man-eating parasites to get your ass.

20. Some great music in that movie!
The Fall's "Hip Priest" and Colin Newman's "Alone"--why should serial killers have such good taste?

Of course, maybe I shouldn't have seen it in my apartment, at 2 am, on acid.

27. Both versions are pretty great, with Carpenter's being more to my taste
"Plant man" ridiculousness notwithstanding, there's some great direction in the old movie--covering all those speakers in the discussion scenes must have been no mean feat.
