Anything I find engrossing is enough to get the cats' attention. Whatever it is, they just have to check it out. I could make my work bench off limits to them but that wouldn't be sporting. Besides, it's often a welcome break when they come by with a friendly head rub.
The downside is that they knock things around, including one-of-a-kind screws that have to be located. Those things have eyes, I know it! And screws can travel quite a distance from where you think they fell. Another downside is cats' tendency to sniff movng parts like fans. Fortunately it only has to happen once. When they get that breeze in their face they know the fan
bites.
So now there's a safe place for everything that can be knocked down and lost. Empty pill containers are just the thing, especially the clear ones. The cats are still not allowed in the dead center of the work bench. If I don't encourage them to stay they'll leave on their own.
Uh oh. Too bad cats can't read
Gracie's gotta know what's going on!!
