Sometimes my job is fun, or at least funny...

Yesterday I was walking past one of the adult units and this sweet little old lady called me over. She peered at me through the fence with a twinkle in her eye and said "You look just like a little porcelain doll I had as a girl". Forgetting for a moment that this was a patient on a forensic rather than civil unit I said "Oh, that is so sweet, thank you" to which she replied (the twinkle now gone) "Until I smashed it's fucking head with a hammer".

One hand giveth, the other taketh away :rofl:

but she also kind of reminds me of my Irish Great Grandma (God rest her soul, lest she come back to haunt me and break hairbrushes on my head if I moved while she was brushing my hair ;) )

11. Reminds me of a friends mother who was not herself

when she was heavily medicated in the hospital having heart surgery. She was saying some inappropriate things that she would never normally say, and some of them were funny.

Like: "I wonder if one of those handsome black men brought me back from the operating room. I've heard they're well hung, you know."

or the same lady overheard a conversation about prostituition and safe sex. Her reply "I hope she was good"

She is about ninety and still kicking
