So nice to talk to you again, I suppose you are right! I just remember an old Godzilla movie where some elderly tourist's spiffy looking hat blows off his head into a smoking volcanic crater and a nearby fellow tourist offers to go retrieve it for 50 yen (which at the time was worth about 10 cents)and as a result some sleeping monster awakes and goes on to create havoc! Now if it were me I would not have offered to climb down into that crater for less than ten bucks, but perhaps that's just me!
I have this weird video of "El Topo" dubbed in English but with Chinese subtitles...maybe other countries reach a degree of ridiculousness they can only so much put up with!
The directors knew that they would be dubbed into many different languages so to make it easier for the supporting actors and extras they just had the actors count out loud instead of memorizing lines of dialogue. If you can lip read and know the Italian and Arabic languages you can see it for yourself if you mute the sound.
