Holy crap, that movie stunk. I'd like to be able to find something I can compliment it on: plot writing dialogue casting pacing performances special effects action sequences score previews before the movie font in the credits... Nope. It all sucked.

1. For once I agree with you about something.
The only thing that could have possibly improved that movie would have been commentary from joel and the 'bots.

It was painfully dull and it reminded me of Tom Cruise getting blown onto the hood of a train in some movie? Special effects really need to be renamed impossible bullshit or something?

8. the cgi sequences would have been better if they had just made sense.
If they had just been logically consistent and not had so many continuity errors it would have gone a long way. I mean, that King Kong remake had lots of CGI in jungle action sequences, and that was actually entertaining.

5. It had the original Indiana Jones theme music.
But the score, say, during the action sequences was dull and lifeless. It made the already dull and lifeless action all the more painful to watch.

Not to mention all of the deus ex machina woo-woo crap. Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg said, before this was in production, that they were waiting for a good script. They should have kept waiting.

7. That and Ford being too old for the role were the least of the problems.
I thought Ford's age and the flying saucers would be the biggest problem with the film, but that seemed minor to just plain crappy movie making. It's like they didn't even try to make a good picture.

and didn't do enough to develop any of the three.

16. It opened up a new universe of suck.
Awful. We saw it in a theater, too. I tried to suspend final judgment until the Shia LaBeof George of the Jungle sequence. And then I was very angry. And stayed angry for the rest of the movie.

There wasn't one second in which I wasn't aware that I was watching a movie. It had nothing. (I won't hold it against Cate Blanchett though. I still like her.)

Were out of place - Siafu, also known as driver ants, are only found in Africa. They were in South America at the time. They were also too big to be siafu - however, siafu (collectively) can be extremely dangerous.

23. Pretty much our reaction
And we BOUGHT a copy, figuring even if it wasn't much good, it would at least round out the Indiana Jones movies on the shelf. We regretted buying it after we watched it. Never have so many special effects supported so little plot.
