The 2008 Deschutes Jubelale has hit the stores.

It's good.

That is all.

1. Mmmmmm must try that
I've been blessed with some other PNW beers, such as Elysian as of late...

But I think I need to explore my inner Christmas Soul.

Thanks for the rec...

2. Any time!
It's exceptionally smooth this year.

I expect to see Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale before too long.

3. I've seen it around here
Not sure if it's last years or this years.

Quick tip: if you can get a hold of their Harvest Wet Hop Ale do it. That stuff is hoppy in all of the good ways. Floral, citrusey and piney yet not overkill in the bitterness dept.

4. That sounds *fantastic.*
Maybe a trip to the Boise co-op is in order. They are well-known for their large and varied beer selection.

17. The Wet Hop?
Awesome!!!

That stuff is amazing

Pure hoppy goodness

If you like hop flavor, albeit not bitter as hell but floral like a herbal garden - that stuff is for you

And they grow their own hops right there in Chico

20. Yes - - Yes it was
And still is

If you can get a hold of Port High Tide Wet Hop IPA that is very nice right now too

Thing about wet hop ales, you can only have them in the fall

Or in Spring on the Southern Hemisphere (see SN's Southern Hemisphere Wet Hop Harvest Ale)

9. Smoke on the Porter is an amazing beer
The kind that makes you happy to just be alive

Wisconsin Beer - I had to trade Cali beers for it.

And it was way worth it, despite UPS's fees.

Taverner, you must have inside info, eh ;-) Doesn't the sender's name give it away that it is beer? And yet one can join a ship wine club. And that is legal.

Liquor laws are so beyond stupid. In the state of MN, one cannot purchase off-sale on Sunday, and in some small towns in MN, even bars are closed on Sunday.

Dates back to a blue law from what I hear.

For instance, I like Chippewa's Leinies - haven't had one in years. You think they ship nationwide?

13. Yeah, I never understood that.
Why are liquor stores closed here on Sundays? Goddamnit, I want to get drunk on a Sunday too. x(

Stupid laws. Buy ahead so you don't drink and drive across the state border on a Sunday. Plan and buy ahead, if you want alcohol on a Sunday in MN.

Don't drive drunk. Seriously. It is not worth the consequence which is very HARSH! Killing someone, bankruptcy, divorce, prison, etc. follows many DUI arrests. I used to work in the field. It's so not worth it. Plan ahead and don't drive after drinking.

If you must drink yourself silly, do it at home and don't drive or harm/kill others.

18. Oh you just hang on beer boards and trade
There are many folks up there who like our California IPA's.

Trade like for like, and all is good.

UPS doesn't approve, but they look the other way.

Business is business, eh?

22. It is legal in the state of Idaho to send and receive beer...
but I don't send any, because in some states it's illegal to receive beer via mail or courier.
