Does blue cheese go bad?
Edited on Fri Oct-24-08 08:03 PM by supernova
I found a wedge of blue cheese I bought in August in the fridge.

Do you think it's still good?

edit: It's been unopened all this time.

1. Is it moldy, and does it smell really bad?
Is so, it should be OK.

2. It gets stale if it's opened...
like, rock hard.

Unopened, I don't know. I wouldn't think so...but, if it has stuff growing on it that doesn't look like the blue part, I'd say throw it out.

looks like the day I bought it.

10. If it's been sealed, it's probably good.
In fact, even opened, as long as you cut any *external* mold off of it, it's probably still good. Properly chilled cheeses age pretty well. Buon appetito!

16. Wonderful. Fantastic. But I don't spread that mold on a cracker.
Bleu cheese is repulsive. I used to work with gourmet cheese and it only reinforced it for me.
I tasted it once, and that was enough. It looks, smells, and tastes hideous.

28. I don't see it on his page at Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evan_Dorkin

The one I was thinking of was "Pirate Corp$ / Hectic Planet"

I'll have to pull those old ones out sometime, too, if I can find them...

If I start buying comics again, I'll end up addicted again!

l usually err on the side of caution.
