I know. I haven't been around much. Kind of been in a funk. Which is why I should have at least been keeping in touch with people here! Cuz there are good peeps here and hanging out in the lounge is always fun.

Besides, it's kind of embarrassing that my post count is like less than half of folks who have only been posting since 2007!

I bought an apartment this summer (got a great price), but there have been more repair expenses than I could have imagined, but it's going to be OK, and the place is going to be just like I like it soon enough. At least that is what I try to tell myself.

I'm leaving Austin for the Seattle area. I got a promotion, so I'm making the big move. I'm heading out next weekend. There seems like there are a million things to do, and I'm doing none of them. :)

I remember reading about your apartment purchase. It's a good move. I don't regret buying my house, although I might become a landlord now (which I did not want to do). I've been lucky with repairs, but I did spring for a new HVAC unit.

I don't know about McCaul losing. A lot will depend on what goes on over in the Houston area. If those people come to their senses, I think Doherty can do well. He wasn't my choice to be our candidate, but he's miles better than McCaul. Incidentally, my new Congressman is Dave Richert - and I hope Marcy Burner sends him packing.

Oh, and I totally understand the being in a funk. I've been in one most of this year too.

I have a number of friends from Seattle and they can't say enough good things about it! I hope you like it. Do you have contacts there? Do you need any?

Landlord? Kind of a bummer. Well, you'll probably have to get a management company since you'll be so far away, which will cut into your profits, but I'm sure it will work out. How's the housing market in Austin? Prices seem to have leveled out here, but not at home in Cali.

My realtor also manages properties. The market is ok, but not great here.

I have almost no contacts there except for a couple of people here on DU. So, more would be great. You have my e-mail. :)
