well, daughter and dog moving back in. boyfriend-no f'ing way.
middle kid (21 yo) was escorted out of the house by the cops a year ago. not so much her as her asshole boyfriend. we never liked him, but put up with him in hopes of keeping kiddo in college.
to her credit, she has worked, gone to school and paid the rent for the last year. asshole, not so much. whenever disaster struck, kiddo was the patsy, since she was the one that saved her money.
they had a roommate, too. he was a party to some of the disasters. she says he "went off" at them recently, and that just the 2 of them cannot pay the bills. i suspect that if the pain were spread around this wouldn't bother her so much, but... dad and i have both made it clear that if she wants to see asshole, she can do it somewhere else. hope there is not a lot of chipping away at that. cuz i ain't gonna put up with it.
so, i don't mind her moving back so much, but, oy that dog. the incredible barking machine. cute as all hell. and mostly pretty good. just compelled to express himself all day. (we already have 3 dogs. they all get along pretty well, but that is where a lot of the barking starts.)
got my fingers crossed. me and this kid have some sorry history. she has been a lot better person now that she has had to be a grown up for a while. so, maybe this is another chance.
but i'm gonna need some ear plugs. wish me luck.

4. Re: The Barking
The dog can be taught to bark on command. Get a Cesar Milan book. I'm sure he'll help.
Good luck.

5. i love cesar
and he will definitely be taught that i am the big dog. which seems to fix pretty much everything in cesar world.
my daughter is pretty dog smart, and he is otherwise pretty well trained. he is better with her, and he goes with her to work. i do plan to do that- turn it on, now turn it off thing. but around here, with my 2 terriers, well, let me put it this way- i will have no choice but to make a big pile of xmas cookies this year in order to apologize to the neighbors.
