3 dogs with diarrhea. Beige carpet.
You do the math. Ugh.

Note to self: Do not leave 20 lb bag of rice accessible to dogs again (actually one dog/goat in particular who I am certain was the ringleader, lol).

The good news is I have a steam cleaner machine that is great. The bad news is I've had to pick up, as best one can, raw rice covered in shit gravy first ALL over the place.

Other than that, it's been a great day. :o

1. Odd. Rice usually does the opposite.

6. Don't leave ANYTHING accessible!
I had a pair of gloves I bought a month ago end up as chew toys for my pack of six dogs. I think it was the pup "lucy" who got the ball rolling. Now all the dogs are playing with the pair of gloves they "killed".

I put in laminate flooring, no carpet anywhere. Seriously, with six dogs & two cats there is NO WAY I could keep any carpeting.

14. Lucy reminds me of Peggy Sue
My female dog believes that anything two feet and lower to the ground belongs to HER. Anything left on the floor or slightly higher is promptly hijacked and carried outside, where it is deposited on the lawn and sometimes chewed, but not always. I've lost at least six remote controls, several pairs of shoes, countless slippers, and one time, a five pound bag of potatoes. How she got that out through the dog door, carrying it in her mouth, I'll never know. My mother was visiting at the time, and now calls her "Spud" as a nickname.

20. Lucy.

Here she is, a little trouble maker who found my house after being dumped on the road. It amazes me that somebody would discard such a sweetheart. Here she is the day she was found;

27. They all took to her right away for some reason.
She was in the minute they saw her. No growling, no nuthin. All five of the dogs seemed to welcome her and still enjoy her company.

33. I never get upset at my animals.
If they do something wrong it is MY fault for allowing it to happen. Case in point are the gloves. I left them in a place the dog could get them therefore it is my fault they got chewed up.

I love that one shot, where the camera flash makes her eyes look blue. Love her floppy ears, too.

I've got to get some pictures of my two scanned, so I can show them off.

13. It could be worse
I fostered a dog once who turned out to have tapeworms. After we wormed him, the vet told me that I had to go through my regular dogs poop, for the telltale signs of tapeworms. They look a lot like grains of...you got it...rice. Because the tapeworms "shed" irregularly, you have to perform this task for several weeks to make sure there are none present.

I don't mind picking UP after my dogs, but examining it thoroughly? That's another matter entirely. You have my sympathies.

15. After 31 yrs of living with dogs, I had no idea they would eat raw rice
:wow:

That totally sucks Truthiness! I feel bad for you and the pups. :(

Thanks for the lesson though. I truly had no idea.

19. The doggies are fine
I wouldn't have thought they'd go after raw rice either, but one of my dogs must have been a goat in a past life...I think she's the exception rather than the rule, but she apparently got the other dogs to think it was a good idea.

24. Pets and carpet are incompatible.
I ripped up my carpet and put in laminate. It was major -- I did it myself and had never doe anything like that. But dang. Now when they :puke: or have accidents, it's easy to clean up.

31. Not to mention fleas & ticks.
If the animals get fleas or ticks they LOVE the carpet. As you said though when they throw up it makes cleanup a breeze.

25. trade you for the decomposed squirrel the pack brought in yesterday.
i have 2 little rat terriers who are crummy hunters. they have recently been joined by my returning-home child's terrier type mutt. they appear to have gotten much better. i don't mind the dead animals as long as they are relatively fresh. but this thing was a rotting squirrel pancake.
not sure how much of it was eaten in the couple of days before they brought it in, but no one seems to be feeling ill.

i used to have one of those goat dogs. she would be the one that got the jar of peanut butter off the counter and licked it clean, even though it broke when it hit the floor. even though her face and mouth were bleeding everywhere.
she used to pretty routinely find things to eat which resulted in my gratitude for the carpet machine also.

sounds like a lot of fun. i recommend some

28. Your dogs must be related
to mine. My guys will eat anything that's not moving. About eight years ago Bailey decided to eat the carpet. He was pooping carpet padding for days.
