12. Wow. You're hard core.
I have the programmable thermostat set on that between 10 and 7 when everyone is in their bedrooms. I'm the only one home during the day, so I have it set at 60 and it's been driving me crazy. I guess I just need to toughen up.

3. We will be needing the air conditioning later this week
And no, I am not gloating. It is supposed to be 97 on Thursday. Evil evil weather.

Normally in "winter" we have it set at 65 during the day and 60 at night. Our furnace never kicked on last "winter".

4. I havn't turned on furnace yet
I think this is the longest I've ever held out. I'm just being stuborn.

Geesh, it's only been in the 20s/low 30s 4 or 5 nights. ;)

The longer I hold out the less I spend. Tight huh? :D

7. I made it until this week
but it's not getting above 40 during the day. The house is just never warming up, but the highest I'll go is 65 when it's after-dinner TV time. It's 55 at night and 60 during the day. I've even had to keep covering the dog when she's sleeping because she's getting chills.

31. This is the longest I've ever held out also.
If I'm going to be home, I turn on the gas fireplace first thing in the morning and let it go for about an hour before turning it off. That keeps the main floor pretty comfortable.

5. "Off."
I have flannel sheets and a thick comforter that I bought a couple of years ago at Bed, Bath & Beyond. I have Land's End Flannel PJs and a heavy Land's End bathrobe. When I get up in the morning I will turn the heat on for a moment (it's a gas wall heater...really miss the "forced air" heat of my last two places). While the coffee's brewing I'll stand there for a moment and get warm and then off it goes. If it's a really brutal day I might do that one or two more times but I don't use the heater to "heat my home" (the heat wouldn't travel down to the bedrooms anyway). So it's lots of flannel and hot beverages (right now I'm working on some green tea).

9. We recieved an electric mattress pad last year
for Christmas and it's wonderful coupled with the flannel sheets, and I could live in my flannel PJs. I don't have the greatest circulation, so I have problems with my hands, feet and nose getting really cold.

Its as off as it can be. It only goes on when someone is ill. And sometimes not even then.

Oregon(the liberal part, at least) doesn't get cold. Its one of the things I like about here.

We like it cold anyway, so we just throw a hoodie on and call it good. We heat with oil and it was still $3.04 a gallon when I called last week, so we're gonna try to hold off filling the tank half way for another few weeks and see what happens.

We start getting home at 4:30pm, so it jumps to 70F. Bedtime it is 68F. We have two little ones that we need to keep warm. Just have to fork out the cash for the propane bill when it comes.

We just bought an electric fireplace insert. It looks like a real fire and has a small electric heater in it. It keeps the living room a bit warmer than the rest of the house.

26. 62?
my furnace is really, really old and so is the thermostat. All I know is that it's a bit chilly upstairs, but not freezing. Of course that could simply be my "maturing" circulatory system.

We were going to buy a new furnace this fall, but decided to wait in light of all the economic turn-down. So I suppose some belt-tightening is where we are at.

35. 60
My room's the warmest in the house and I'm lucky that the man who lives downstairs hates to be cold. His thermostat is set on 70.

I have a heated mattress pad and the cats believe I created that full-sized heating pad just for them. They don't move all night.

I bundle up, open the oven door after it's turned off and do what I can to keep my natural gas use down. Sure beats heating with oil though...

And it doesn't tend to get very cold or very hot here often. Maybe for a week or so in the extreme end of the seasons. Other than that, I can put on a sweater, snuggle a cat, toss an extra blanket on the bed and I'm fine.
