Actually, the idea is not original with me; I stole it shamelessly from Mort Walker, of 'Beetle Bailey' fame.
A tiny little George W. Bush, with flappy ears and smirking lips, is riding on one of those little coin-operated rides outside of a supermarket. This one looks like a pointy, 1950's science-fiction rocket turned on its side. On the cabinet that houses the machinery is painted a moon and a star, and the words 'TO THE MOON!' He is happily bouncing up and down on it as Secret Service agents, dressed in black suits and dark sunglasses, some agents talking into their wrists, hover around, looking from side to side. Dick Cheney, with a pained look on his face, is standing nearby. An SS agent leans over to Cheney and says "Sir?..." Cheney replies: "It won't be long now; he's running out of money."
Thanks, Mort.
What do you think? I'd love to see Oliphant draw this.
