What time do the oscars start in California!
I know they're delayed broadcast and that they start at 8 eastern standard time but I dnon't know when they start here. HELP!

1. It's not delayed
the Oscars are the only awards show shown live across the country.

The official show begins at 5:30 tomorrow in California.

I only know this because Oscar Day is the High Holy Day among my people :)

I, too, wait for the Oscars all year.

It's a great excuse to eat a bunch of really good food, get together with the girlfriends, and laugh our asses off at those who have stylists and still don't look good. (I remember the year that Annette Bening, a woman who would look nice wearing a Hefty garbage bag, looked like she'd been dragged backwards through a hedge.)

Last year there were toasts and tears when Michael Moore was the winner; this year, we're rooting for our favorite underdog, "Seabiscuit".

But you're going to be disappointed. Seabiscuit was just OK.

My biggest dream is for Johnny Depp to win. He's dreamy...
