Faith -based carpentry.

We discovered it here in the red state of mostly Fundies.

Mr. D. is working on the house we bought in 2005, which had some minor 2004 hurricane damage ( Ivan).
Mr. D. is quite particular about wood angles being square, or something like that.
So he was checking the uneven soffits, prior to painting.
Looking down the line of the soffit was like looking at a bad country road.

That section of soffit had been repaired by a "local handyman".
There were pieces of wood glued to each other, with caulk,
then caulk glued to the protruding rafters. No nails needed, I guess.
There were long nails hammered through some other wooden segments which did not touch any other pieces of wood, just kinda freely protruded inside the patched over repair.

Mr. D. said it was a miracle the "repairs" lasted a year.

We determined they were held together by prayer.

Jesus was a carpenter, after all.
