Does it bother you when someone helps themselves to something off your desk?

I am fighting a cold and have a bag of throat lozenges open on my desk. A co-worker came into my office to ask me something and just helped herself. If she'd said something, I would've offered her one and probably would have done so anyway but she just reached in and took one. That bugs me.

I'm picky about pens and typically only have 1 or 2 (excluding highlighters and Sharpies).

So, when one of them walks off suddenly I got nothing to write with. Usually I realize it when I'm on the phone and have to take down a number and start umm-ing and ahh-ing as the pointless search begins.

And I hide my pens so no one can take one. I buy my own and bring them to the office.

Offices buy cheap cr@ppy pens that are no fun to write with so I buy my own. If my pet pen is gone, I become pretty non-functional until I find it. I make sure I have other pens around so I never have to hand anyone my pet pen.

I am such a weirdo. You can take my hiliters, my stickys, my scissors even (well, for a WHILE) and I'll be okay, just don't mess with my PEN!!!
