I've been insecure the last few months but wasn't working so it wasn't an issue really. Now I'm working sales and need to get over my insecurity so I can have fun with customers do well that way and not be uncentered with fears.

Please tell me it will be okay - that this too shall pass.

1. It really will be OK...remember this....
There are millions of people in this country, probably a lot of them who are a lot less "on the ball" than you are, who are performing very successfully at similar jobs.

If you don't let your insecurities (which we all have) show, it is almost like they don't exist.

You will do great.

Play the part until you can actually be the person you know you can be - confident and secure.

16. It has only been in the last few months that I have been so insecure. And I don't
know why. I can feel it lifting. But thanks for your reply.

10. you don't have to be afraid, just *listen* to your customers.
Listen carefully, ask questions then show them the exact CORRECT product to fill their needs.

they will love you and be grateful. don't "sell" them anything, find out what they need and steer them to it.

Look it as a way to help people. to be of service, to assist them in finding what will make them happy/productive/whatever.

easy peasy no?

12. Do you fully understand and believe in your product?
If so, then don't focus on the "selling" so much as how you are doing a favor for people who really need what your product has to offer.

Listen very carefully to your customer's needs, whatever they are, and respond to those needs. Let your prospects do at least 80% of the talking. That's really the whole key right there.

You'll be fine. Congratulations on the new job.
