2. K's project is Chinese New Year.

Red Envelopes (for money - we are putting one penny in each for all her classmates) are a big part of the Chinese New Year festivities.

She has to do a report and give a presentation next week about Chinese New Year, complete with costume and props. Thankfully K's Thai grandmother bought her a Chinese dress (it is Chinese and not Thai...go figure), so we have the costume part all figured out.

Thankfully, Irvine CA is rather diverse. It is estimated that about 40% of the population here is Asian, so Asian markets of almost all nationalities are close by.

Three things for the assignment are in place. The costume, the props, and the note sheet with the information she will use to write the actual report.
