Going to Toys R Us, wish me luck...
I'm not sure how I feel about that. ;)

Lelapin may find toys under the tree this year...

I'm buying a gift for a little girl who otherwise won't get anything. She wants a Hello Kitty stationary set and it's supposed to be in stock here. Wish me luck. I'm also going to find some glitter pens and a shirt for her too.

I wish I could do more, but it's been a bad year all the way around.

2. lizzie, those are great gift ideas anyway, even if they don't cost you much.
My network of kids are getting scaled-back gifts this year too, but the young ones especially don't know cheap from expensive -- they just know fun.

If those things are something the little girl wants, you're going to put a big smile on her face.

4. I was lucky
she put down exactly what she wished for on the mitten I took from the tree. I chose her because her name is one that Lelapin wished was hers. Good reason, right? ;)

I'm going to check the tree tomorrow and see if there are others not claimed yet. My inlaws don't want gifts of any kind this year, but said if we wanted to make a donation in their name, that would be fine. I'm thinking some toys for a child would be perfect. :-)

I went yesterday morning--it wasn't too bad. Hit Target as well, and that was worse--had a triumvirate of kamikaze adult sisters mobbing the toy aisles and screeching like banshees to one another of which kid wants what and whether something was a deal or not. :scared:

16. I survived!
The store was hardly crowded at all. But, it's in a part of town that is depressed. I found the stationary set she wanted and will drop it off tomorrow so she'll have it for Christmas. :)
