I like Octopi
Especially Otto

Otto the octopus wreaks havoc

A octopus has caused havoc in his aquarium by performing juggling tricks using his fellow occupants, smashing rocks against the glass and turning off the power by shortcircuiting a lamp.

Staff believe that the octopus called Otto had been annoyed by the bright light shining into his aquarium and had discovered he could extinguish it by climbing onto the rim of his tank and squirting a jet of water in its direction.

The short-circuit had baffled electricians as well as staff at the Sea Star Aquarium in Coburg, Germany, who decided to take shifts sleeping on the floor to find out what caused the mysterious blackouts.

2. Me, too. There's a GREAT bit of footage in the Planet Earth series...
...of an octopus fucking WALKING across the ocean floor. One of the coolest things I've ever seen.

4. I missed so much of that series.
I'd really like to see that. They are fascinating creatures.

So are cuttlefish. :)

9. There was recently an entire show about cuttlefish!
Nature on PBS, maybe? Crap--can't remember now. But it showed how frighteningly intelligent they are, and it was fascinating.

I saw about 15 minutes of one of the Planet Earth installments and went "I'm buying the DVD set NOW." You can pick it up new/sealed on eBay for much less than you can get it on Amazon, and it's worth every penny.
