My albatross has black specks all over her - are they anvils?

My albatross has black specks all over her - are they anvils?
She's having a hard time getting flight, and the specks are about one foot by six inches by 10 inches, rather anvil shaped, and seem to be made of iron. I've determined they're definitely magnetic, and they seem to be held on with piano wire.

Did some stupid kid prankster anvil my albatross last night? Is that what kids are doing nowadays for fun? What's next, putting linseed oil on my cormorant?

In my day, we just sat behind the garage huffing, we didn't bother other people's birds.

1. well it made me grin
as someone who has put way more effort than anyone should into choice copycats only to see them sink like a 70's rock band associated with a weight (but not anvil) laden dirigible, I had to respond.

Albatrosses get this all the time.
A strict diet of wheat germ, mung bean sprouts, and banana oil will clear it up in a month or two.
