Why do dirty guys at garages act so superior?
I did my mom a favour and went to get her snow tires put on today. I pulled up to the back of what I believe was the right place and said, "Hello, is this 'ultimate tire?'" and the guy replies, "No, no it's not." Then there's some silence and I said, "Oh, okay, do you know if there's a tire place around here?" And he gives me some dirty look before asserting "Well, you're standing at 'Unlimited tire.'" So I said, "Oh, that must be it then!" He gives me another look and mumbles, "Okay, put er on hoist." So I do, and when I get out of the car he says "You're on time... I like it when people are on time." All I could muster at this point was a semi-snarky "Imagine my relief."

THen I went inside where I made the mistake of asking a woman behind the counter if the snow tire shortage is going to hurt us in Vancouver that much and she starts explaining supply and demand to me like I'M the one selling tires for a living.

Fuck.

1. Do what I do...and I'm dead serious here...
Here's what I would have said to the guy...

"Oh OK...well, you just lost a sale for being such a wise ass. You also lost sales from everyone I know, and their families, for being such a fucking wise ass. I'll be calling your district manager tomorrow, and letting him know this too".

3. Maybe he's not always snarky.
Maybe he's tired.

Get it?

"Tired".
