I had just written you this long well thought out post on Discord and Bob and The Bullcult but 'meh, not gonna bother you already hate me.

It seems like a huge waste of energy meant to mock religion as absurdist when you can just say "I think religion is absurd." and save $30 in the process.

I don't see the purpose of it all.

If it is anti-objectivist nihilism (which is exactly what even the subgenius.com website makes it look like): disruption without purpose for the sake of the fun of watching society go to hell and the rise of selfishness...then it's impossible to not hate that world-view.

I paid my $20 in the late 80s for my certificate (it's at least $30 now.) We had a decent X-Day devival in Houston way back then. Got Rev. Ivan Stang here to make his appearance. And I used my Rev name when I had a radio back then, too :)

I would say I think he's with us in some fashion, or that'll be triple your money back!

I discovered Bob on a radio show on KPFT way back.

I worked nights and I think the show was on a Thursday night.

I have a few of the shows on tape.

Here's a blurb from some site I found and another with comments about the punk show, Funhouse. Chuck Roast had that show on Fridays and a show before Mr. Charlie on Thursdays. I would sometimes show up and help out on both shows back in the early 90s :)

Yea, we had a real liberal radio staion in Houston, Texas.

KPFT had some really great shows back then.

I taped some other shows also.

I need to get a tape player and copy the tapes to digital.

Originally that was on Saturday nights, but I think it got moved to Monday nights later on. He gave me my start at the station, with that interview portion and then filling in for one of his hosts later in the show. I learned a lot from him, enough that I was able to take a slot that opened up late Saturday nights after the show "Afterhours" (a GLBT show.) I did that show ("Carbon Dating Game") for three years before I got booted off the air by management.

I have a bunch of my interview segments recorded on vhs (so I could set it to record the radio while I was away at the station) but I will need to get one of those tranfer services to do it as none of my current vcr's can pick up the audio anymore...

You might do the same with your tapes, like go to the Indian area of town. There are tranfer service places all over for their PAL tapes and DVDs they have to convert. Then get a site and host them for download :)

I have some We the People and Barfly News that Otis did, that was when Daddy Bush was president.


I also have a few Radio Drome shows.

I also have some Ruby 3 shows, if you know what that is.

I have some old After Hours shows to.

I taped everthing back then, wished I would have tape more.


All this stuff is on radio cassettes.

I worked two jobs back then, KPFT kept me company.

I remember when that new manager came in and really trashed the station.

I used to play Jack Flanders series at the beginning of my show. If you taped After Hours, then you may have gotten the beginning of my show, too ;)

I mainly did what I called "Babblethon" which was a form of controlled chaos in talk and noise format. I wasn't the first to do that, though. Genesis P. Orridge did it in the 70s I think.

I know KPFT has archives of the past shows, but we weren't archiving way back then, like they do now. That was left to the show host or their fans. I only have a few shows tapes because I was (and still am) of the opinion that the show was for that period in time and I didn't need to listen to it again, even if it was a great show. I fulfilled my purpose of entertaining and that was that :)

I filled in on a lot of shows back then, so I was all over the place for latenight during the week. Did you ever list to Scott Summers' "The Avant Garde Show"? Sunday nights at 10pm.

I am glad I taped the shows, KPFT was a really great station back then.

I listened to After Hours and then the shows after until 7 am when I would get off work.

I also listen to The Avant Garde Show.

This time period was when I was poor and I worked two jobs, KPFT was my life line.

Someone gave me a big box of tapes, so I taped away.
