Good morning Lounge
*YAWN* I'm still tired. Didn't go to bed till 1am last night. The Christmas party was a blast. Good conversations, good food, good wine (except one ... *BAH*) ... the last people left at 11pm (we started at 6pm). I was among them. Now all I have to do is survive today ....

5. Good morning MissH!
You stayed until 11:00 p.m. at a work party? Wow! I enjoy my colleagues, but I'd want to leave after a couple of hours. ;)

Maybe you'll be allowed to leave work early, seeing you were the organizer, and from all appearances, you put on a GREAT party.

I'm so glad today is Friday. I'm still in my jammies, and I'm already hoping that the work day goes by fast.

 :hi: :loveya:

yes, it was a really good party. The other people who stayed that long were the people I get along with just great. Almost all of them were young (30 and 40  )

I'm really glad it is Friday too :D Just had my lunch break with left overs from yesterday. Now I brought the cake down to my office and can munch while I work :D

and it looks like we may get at most 3 days of sunshine, and then rain for the foreseeable future. ick.

Our party was pretty fun too. We have such a diverse lab - we ended up with food from all over the world which was cool.

Someone also brought an amazing banana pudding. :9

when I will get it. They send it with UPS International. I am not able to track it. That is how I got 10 calendars last year. I complained because it took so long, so they send me 5 new copies I didn't had to pay :D

I will have to pack stuff already. Want to go buy boxes either today or tomorrow.

Not sure how much I will be able to post next week here, as I will be home resting my foot after OP on Monday. At least Monday I am sure I will not post. I have no laptop I could use while sitting on my couch.

41. Nope, no help
at least not till the week I move. Then my mom and her bf are coming. First we paint the new condo, then they will help me finish packing and on Jan 8th a moving company is doing the moving itself.

I have to get my toe operated again. I had an OP in October because I have problems with ingrown toenails. They missed a piece of the root and the toe is infected again. That is why I need a second OP. But I can go home afterwards, it is a local OP.

We've had a lot of rain recently...I just wish it would turn into snow so it would at least be pretty. I would love to come over, but it's probably a too long a trip to justify just for snow :( Particularly since I'm supposed to be working right now.

33. I just talked with
one of the local farmers. When I told him it was going to snow today he said, "Don't believe everything you hear. I don't care what the weather man says, it ain't gonna snow today!" He's been more accurate than any weather forecast since we've known him.

I favor rain when I have to go anywhere. Had a fender bender in light snow just a few months after I got married and it made me nervous about driving in the stuff ... even though I've done it safely plenty of times since then.

It would be a long trip. We should chart it out sometime. BTW, I was born in MD. :D

36. it sounds like you aren't getting snow then
:D

I live in the city and I don't have a car, so snow just means walking in it, and as long as it isn't a blizzard (which Baltimore almost never gets) or icy, I prefer it to rain. But I'm weird. I have a feeling I'd feel a lot differently if I was driving.

It would be a long trip, but not that long, I think. My boss has family in TN, and she drives down to see them, and doesn't complain about the trip (well, she does, but it's mostly about the craziness of her family, not the drive ). Where in MD were you born? :)

30. Well,
that's not the front, it's the back. :spank:

I'm going to move it to the new garden that isn't there yet eventually. Once we get some money (yeah, right ...) harleydad wants to plant evergreens so he can see them from the office window. And put a lamp post and bench in the middle of it all. Then I'll put the gazing ball there to reflect the mountains. I think that'll be cool. It sort of got started over the summer. We planted 2 metasequoias on the hill behind the clump of cedars. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metasequoia) They're just babies now, but they'll grow fast.

Only problem with you coming for Thanksgiving next year is that you won't get to see how fabulous the gardens are. But I'll take lots of pics. :D

39. It's a common mistake.

I do have to take pictures! And I owe some to someone ... I promised to print some out so she could show them to other potential clients. Must do that!

Yes, it will get pretty big. But they're both planted just over the hill, as a sort of backdrop for the rest of the area. So if you're sitting on the kitty porch, one of them is almost straight ahead from where you're sitting on the glider, but beyond the cedars. The other one is down the hill to the left, and closer to the house. They're both about 10 ft. tall now, but very thin and young. They're already cool looking, though.

I'm glad we got some of the trees planted before the bad stuff happened. We planted a lot of fruit trees, too, so we'll have plenty to eat next summer!
