...And while not my grandfather's Jedi Knight-style perfectly clean soldered joints, I can say after a long day standing on my head under the future tub -- and some 50 connections -- I have turned the water back on, and lo, it does not leak.

Apparently no one appreciates craftsmanship anymore. What, no kittehs, no replies?

OK, there's a kitteh hidden behind the piece of metal ducting I hung up as a heat shield on the last joints. He was very well protected from the propane torch. And thus did not die horribly.
