Have you ever coughed so much and so hard that your abdominal muscles HURT like crazy?

And the muscles of your chest and shoulders?

And that coughing more makes those same muscles hurt so much, but you are compelled to do so anyway?

Yeah, it's been that kind of week for me.

Double pneumonia - 13 years old

I am still susceptible to pneumonia. I still get worried that I will do it again if I cough too much.

Get thee to a doctor quickly! :pals:

Coughed all the time, night and day. Had a hard time catching my breath between coughing spells and my chest, ribs, and head were sore for days and days. Absolutely miserable. Anyway, hope you feel better soon.

She said I had separated bone from cartilage around the bottom ribs from the constant coughing

Ouch!

She gave some great meds, Tessalon Perle

...worked like a charm in stopping the coughing so I could heal.

Have you been to your doc?

6. Today has actually been much better, with much less coughing.

Yesterday however was abject misery. Megastrength Mucinex-DM helped a lot but I think that I'm starting to get a lot better.

7. One time I had my diaphragm spasm and I couldn't breathe out or in.

That one bought me a trip to the emergency room.

I had pneumonia when I was in college. Coughed so hard I puked.

I wish they'd had Mucinex then, like they do now. I don't know what the difference is between that and regular cough syrup, but that stuff is magical.

8. they had it, but you had to have a prescription for it. I have been given it

many times with various other decongestants piggybacked on it. I prefer it plain.

The main difference is the dosage of the expectorant in the pills is about 6 times what it is in the cough syrup.

I love the stuff.
