The cold front is coming.

Windchill? I don't know. East wind is absolutely howling out of the Columbia River Gorge. Weather service reported winds in the Gorge gusting to near 70 mph. Yikes! :scared: :-( Winds in this area are supposedly gusting to @ 38 mph. Brrrrrrrr!

I once saw a car blown off the freeway while it was stopped. It was somewhere around The Dalles.

My forecast:

* Tonight: Bitterly cold. Cloudy. Snow showers developing late. Low near 0F. Winds ENE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 70%. Snow accumulations less than one inch.

* Tomorrow: Periods of snow. Cold. High 21F. Winds ENE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 70%. Snow accumulating 2 to 4 inches.

* Tomorrow night: Snow in the evening will taper off to light snow overnight. Low 19F. Winds N at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 80%. Snow accumulating 1 to 2 inches.

* Monday: A few snow showers scattered about the area in the morning, otherwise a good deal of clouds. High 22F. Winds light and variable. Chance of snow 30%.

* Tuesday: Snow showers early. Highs in the low 20s and lows in the mid teens.

* Wednesday: A few snow showers. Highs in the upper teens and lows in the mid teens.

the Gorge. Yikes, but that was scary. Never been in wind like that before.

But its geologic impressiveness never fails to err... impress. The Cascade Mountains rising from the forces of the Pacific Plate against the irresistible force of the fall of the Columbia River. Name another place in the world where a river has bisected a mountain range.

The Gorge is so awesome! Unfortunately, so is its capacity to funnel high wind velocities, which it is doing tonight. You must be on the east side of the Cascade Range? Low @ zero? Brrrrr. Be safe when you are on I-84. No one should be out there tonight!

Will get down to 41 tonight, which is goddamned cold around here. lol

Last weekend I had a stomach virus, and my temp was 102.5

But that is my normal tempature, I have always been .2 to .3 above normal

Mr GoG's normal temp is about 98, and he tends to prefer cooler room temps.

but either warm or cold is fine. I am not really temperature sensitive.

I prefer cooler room temperatures as well.

cold snap the next few days, but then back up into the 60s day/40s night.

My friend, in Bozeman, MT, is in the -9 territory. Brrrr!

It actually snowed here in Vegas the other day and stuck for almost 24 hours before it all melted. :P

It's cold. I just shoveled off the sidewalks near my house. Worked for about 15 minutes, then came back inside to warm up.

The snowblower's next. I think I'm going to do all of this in three sessions, then come back in and warm up. Normally, it takes about 45 minutes, so that should work out OK.

But you get acclimated, if it stays this frigging cold for a few days and your body adjusts quite nicely. I got a ride from a friend (we went to coffee) and we were surprised that so many people had taken the parking spaces that early on a Sunday in this freezebox. Must be the holidays...
