Someone stole my lunch
It was good leftovers from dinner last night. I go to get it, gone. Someone grabbed it, saw what it was and must have thought it looked better than what they had, so they took it.

Nice.

I'm about to head into the kitchen, and if anyone's touched my lunch, I'm going to be one angry dude.

3. Bring them more tomorrow!
Just make sure it's well laced with some nasty laxative. I believe that would be a cure.

4. Damn - what nerve!
How can someone do that? OTOH do you work with anyone who might be having a tough time financially - maybe they don't have food at home.

7. I've never heard of anybody at my company getting their lunch stolen
Thrown out when the fridge got cleaned, yes.

But stolen? No.

That is just so damned low.

Where do you work?

8. Update
Apparently that's what happened. The fridge got cleaned and apparently my lunch was a casualty. Or at least that's the story. I'm not sure I buy that, since there were other lunches that look like they could have been trash.

10. Who the fuck cleans the fridge on a Tuesday just before lunch?
If that is their story, then the fridge-cleaners are terminally fucking stupid.

You do NOT clean out the company fridge without posting notice, and usually the cleaning occurs after 3pm on a friday.

You do NOT clean out the company fridge mid-week, before lunch.

11. Exactly
I can't believe anyone would clean the fridge before 1pm. But whatever, the person who fessed up said they'd buy me lunch. I said no, don't bother, but I'm feeling a little bitter either way.

13. I'd have taken them up on the offer.
Make sure you tell them you consider it a faux pas to clean out the fridge without posting at least one full day's warning on the fridge, and that cleanings ought to occur on Fridays after three pm.

15. Well, I won't
It was one of our low paid employees, and she may well just have made a mistake and if so, I know I can afford to buy me a lunch way more than she can. I did say that maybe she should wait until after someone might reasonably eat lunch before cleaning it out, and she said she certainly would next time.

Being a liberal, I immediately felt guilty about getting mad about it.

12. Bake some chocolate cupcakes with exlax in them
At my first job, someone who was tired of a lunch thief at work did exactly that. The next day someone called out with "a stomach virus". Oddly enough no food was ever stolen again.

18. You don't have someone with the last name Kair working there do ya?
I used to work with this bozo named Kair. For the longest time, people would complain about having lunches stolen. When I changed depts, I worked with this moron and found out that it was him stealing them. He told me that he checked the fridge every day, and if he noticed food had been the more than a day or two he just took it and ate it.
