8. Thank you
train ride is nothing special to me. Always take the train to my mom (don't have a car). It sure is less stressful. I can read and listen to my iPod and sleep ... things I can't do in a car (OK, except listen to my music).

Any special plans on your side?

:hi:

3. hey MissHoneychurch--happy holidays to you
lovely picture--very dramatic! the santa hat is a great flair of color. have fun at your mom's.

my daughter came home from school the other day and is sound asleep on the couch after a day visiting w/friends (and she did actually spend a bit of time with me). she's leaving before new years to be back around school--too soon, too soon. i wish she'd stay longer. i really miss her being around.

I'll be staying with my mom till Sunday. I have to work next Monday and Tuesday. But then she and her bf are coming on the 1st to help me with my move.
I see her every month or so. And we talk on the phone weekly.

How old is your daughter?

But my daughter's birthday is on the 30th, and they'll come over for that, so we'll do a late Christmas celebration that night too.

I did also calendars for my mom, her bf and our Ukranian friends. But for them big calendars. Yours is only so small so that it would fit in the box next to the chocolate :D
I tried to find cute but also funny pics. It was hard to find a good one of Sheba and Sashka. Sheba was always moving, Sashka decided not to partake in a photo session ....

Well, there is that love bug pic of Sheba with Sylvester that I've posted several times. Sashka is a bit hard. We have some cute pics of her. I recall one with her colorful nail tips. :loveya: That one of Sylvester is hilarious, though!

Discipline? The only way I can practice that with foods that I treasure is not to have them in the house at all. ;)

the crowds this time of year are just too much. They stress me out, so even though I'm trying to just go out and have some fun...I usually come home all frazzled. blech.

100. I came home frazzled,
but in a good mood. Then harleydad said the contractor called and wanted an update on something we need for the job he's doing. So I had to call the supplier (who was supposed to get back with me about 2 weeks ago) to get a date from him and then call the contractor back. By the time I finished all that, it was time to cook supper and feed the critters. Of course, none of that excitement happens when I'm home all day long.

How many more days before you can have some just-for-you time?

I went out shopping last night with my mother and sister. I wasn't even shopping for the holidays, but because I needed to pick up a few things for myself, and I can tell you it was a mad house. I think I now qualify for combat pay

69. the sheets are a
blue with a swirl design on them. They weren't my favorite on the shelves, but they were my favorite ones that weren't overpriced! :D

The towels are a deep burgundy - almost a wine color. They will go nicely in my red bathroom. I'm trying to tone down the serious fire engine red of the bathroom - and putting lots of different shades of red in it is working. I never would have thought so, but certain family members are right.

That sounds like a good break for the holiday. Do you have any special holiday traditions?

Well, in Germany Santa comes on Christmas Eve. Guess he has to give us the presents in the evening so he can go to the U.S. and give out the presents there over night.

Other than that, no real traditions.

I've always liked the idea of Santa.

My family doesn't celebrated Christmas, so that's the one part of the holiday I missed out on. We did a lot of the other things, under the heading of "helping friends celebrate their holiday" - like caroling and decorating the tree, etc. - at other people's houses. They would also come and celebrate Hannukah with us, so it was an equitable exchange. :D

99. It was always strange for me
when I was in the U.S. and had to wait till the morning of the 25th to get the presents. I think it is way more nice to get them at Christmas Eve. It is dark outside, the christmas tree is lighten and it is calm and peaceful. Instead of getting woken up at a ungodly hour on the 25th, especially if kiddos are around.

And on my b-day I had to wait till the afternoon to get my presents instead of getting them in the morning like here in Germany
