As long as We the People are spending billions to bail out Wall Street...
maybe we should bail out the Detroit Lions.

For less than the cost of bailing out ONE bad CDS, we could put a decent football team in Detroit, and the other teams wouldn't have to send their fourth-string players (you know, the team from the high school closest to the stadium) onto the field to make the Lions look at least marginally competent.

So I'm thinking...we get Bobby Bowden from Florida State as the coach, let him hire all new players...it'd work better than pounding money down the rathole that is Wall Street, anyway. You ever know anyone who ever bought a Merrill Lynch replica jersey? (Yes, I know you could say the same thing about Lions jerseys. We're trying to fix this.)
