The problem with sleeping with James Bond is that so many of his girlfriends end up dead
Occasionally, he does the deed himself

On the other hand, he's rarely stalked by crazy ex's.

Not cut out to be a family man

1. Aren't his ladyfriends in risky lines of work themselves?
He's not dating sales reps

4. Dude is hopelessly out of step.
He meets a new woman in every movie, which he otherwise spends mooning over the death of her predecessor.

5. I really loved that line in Goldeneye
When his nemesis asks him if the drinks silence the screams of those Bond has killed, or being in the arms of a woman helps him forget all of those that he let down.

6. a rather tortured soul
orphaned at 11, raised by an aunt.

It was part of his profession to kill people. He had never liked doing it and when he had to kill he did it as well as he knew how and forgot about it. As a secret agent who held the rare Double-O prefix – the licence to kill in the Secret Service – it was his duty to be as cool about death as a surgeon. If it happened, it happened. Regret was unprofessional — worse, it was a death-watch beetle in the soul." — Goldfinger, chapter 1: "Reflections in a Double Bourbon"

Then Vesper's betrayal and suicide. "The bitch is dead."

Then his wife is murdered on their wedding day...

Unlucky in love I guess...

The books do a much better job of probing his psyche though the Casino Royale film did a pretty good job.
