That's what gives the music its charm.

On the one hand, it's cool you have a secret few others know about.

On the other hand the fact that such and such a band is less famous than Britney Spears is just proof that the roar of the masses could be farts.

Thanks for the tip about a band I had never heard of.

6. Well, the deadly van crash really took them out right at the start.
They had a LOT of good music in them even if they never would have gained widespread acclaim. And you're right that most power pop bands don't.

Their debut (and only) release, Guitar Romantic is perhaps my favorite album from ANY genre.

So so good.

7. I saw the Smithereens at a morning show at Duke Chapel (or somewhere on that campus)
It's wasn't a very conducive environment for rock but they were still pretty good and I'm sure they appreciated the pay day.
