What to get my 24-yr-old nephew for his birthday?
Perhaps of interest, he has Aspbergers's Syndrome. I don't know if that info is helpful in tailoring a gift to my boy, but who knows. Although he eschews a managerial position, he runs a deli at a local Vons grocery store. I'm so proud of him.

His enthusiasms run primarily to video games, about which I know nothing. He's a pro at Guitar Hero, and that's all I know. He also likes wolves, but that is an obsession I don't care to feed.

He's not into music, so an MP3 player is out. He's not much for the computer.

I'm thinking a gift card, unfortunately. Is there an Amazon-style web site for video games? Maybe I could get him a gift cert to something like that.

He is the apple of my eye and has been since the day he was born, but since I moved east eight years ago I don't know him anymore. :( He did call me on Christmas day, though. Probably prompted by his mom, but that doesn't matter to me. It was funny to hear his voice when I answered, though, because my phone had rung with "Kashmir," which is my sister's ringtone. He lives "at home."

He just might like it. He's a "manly man." :)

5. You wouldn't believe how often I use my multi-tool
It's definitely practical. I prefer the Gerber ones over the Leatherman, though. I think they're more comfortable to work with, and feel better made.

3. That tool thing is it...
My Dh has one and loves it. He is ready to do it all with that tool. Kill dinosaurs, whip alligators etc.

It was on stand-by when we unwrapped gifts just in case some wrapping paper got aggressive. He won't leave home without it.

I think there are several varieties - but the brand has to be Leatherman to be the real deal.

He's a social butterfly; he can get one on his own. :)

10. Actually Amazon has a huge game selection...
so an Amazon.com giftcard would work. If you knew what console he played, I might be able to recommend a title.

I've heard great things about the Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones games.

If you can find a copy of it (it was very underrated and didn't sell well when it came out and is now hard to find), Okami is incredible. It's an action/strategy game where you play the role of the Japanese sun-goddess Amaterasu, embodied as a wolf (Okami is the Japanese word for "wolf") as she combats a legendary monster named Orochi and a dark malaise spreading over the land. The artwork is beautiful, the controls are incredible and make great use of the Wii remote as a "celestial brush" used to break rocks, change the course of rivers, control the rising and setting of the sun and change the seasons (among a hundred other uses) to answer the prayers of worshipers, solve puzzles and defeat monsters.

edit: Make sure you get the wii version, it was also released on the N64 and Playstation 2 systems.

15. I think Okami would be right up his alley -- so much that I'll have to
make sure he doesn't have it. Thanks!!
